Raising the Drinking age is not the answer to Scotland's alcohol Problem

The Scottish Government have announced their intention to raise the drinking age to 21 in off-sales (i.e. supermarkets, convenience stores, and other 'off licences') across the country as part of their strategy to tackle Scotland's alcohol problem.

 

Whilst we strongly support efforts to encourage responsible drinking, we believe that raising the drinking age is not a useful method of tackling the core issues at play.
