Your Shoebox will make a child feel special and valued, and let them know that you care about them.  Choosing gifts and then filling and wrapping a shoe box is a fun and rewarding activity for all to do, especially when you know the gift is going to be used and treasured.

Your box will be hand delivered to achild in need, asking nothing of them in return.

All you have to do is;

  • Get a shoe box (18 x 30 x 13 cm) and wrap the lid and box seperately in paper
  • Decide if it is a boy or girl gift box and write the gender and age on a label and stick to the box onto the top right hand side of the lid, securely.
  • Fill it with gifts approprite to the age and gender
  • Do not include food items, medicine, war related items - guns soldiers, knives, clothing-other than gloves, scarf, sunglasses, cap/hat, bagles, necklaces.
  • Fragile items - glass, mirrors etc
  • Liquids - including blow bubbles, shampoos, bubble bath, toiletries, aeroslos etc
  • Dangerous/sharp items -marbles,scissors, razors etc
  • Novels
  • Anything political

See the Samaritan's website for more details www.samaritanspurse.uk.com

Please enclose £2 or more in an attached envelope to help cover the cost of promotion, transport, processing and distribution of your box. Cheques are preffered.

Drop your filled box to the Students Union  room  - at the end of the library.

Your contribution will make a real difference to a child's live.

It needn't be a costly box - the local Poundshops and Poundstretcher are ideal for picking things up.

Thanks,

Michaela
