QM LGBT Society is a group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans students from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. We hold discussion groups, social outings and campaigns.

Discussion Groups

Our discussion groups are held every Thursday at 7.30pm on campus (venue at the new campus still to be confirmed). We discuss LGBT related issues, arrange social outings and make decisions on campaigns to support. Afterwards we usually go out for a drink at places like Planet Out, Sala and The Street.

Social Outings

Over the past year we have arranged a number of events, making sure there is something for everyone. We have had trips to art galleries, hosted film screenings, been bowling, held talks, been to plays, ceilidhs and of course had nights out including club nights Vibe, Velvet and On Request.

Campaigns

We are a very active society who attend NUS LGBT conferences and like to follow this up with campaigning around campus. Our recent campaigns include "Donation Not Discrimination" which opposes the blood ban on gay and bisexual men and our own campaign "Including LGBT parents @ QMU".
