Men’s Basketball competes in the second division of the Scottish BUSA league against other University first and second teams.  The team was reinstated at Queen Margaret for the 2004-2005 after a number of years absence from competition.  Now in its 4th full season, the team has gradually built on previous years experience to form its most promising team yet.  Team numbers have increased year on year now forming a full team roster.  After losing its first three games of the league season to established university programs, the Men’s team won three consecutive games against tough competition by a combined 12 points showing the team’s maturity and character.

All experience levels are welcome on the team.  Practices run Tuesday and Friday nights starting at 5 and 8 respectively at Leith Academy.  BUSA league games take place Wednesday afternoons.  The Men’s team is also entered in the Scottish Universities Cup for the first time this year.

Women’s Basketball competes in the second division of the Scottish BUSA league against other University first and second teams.  Women’s basketball is quickly becoming a force within the Scottish BUSA league.  After narrowly missing out on potential promotion to the first division last year with a 4-2 record this year’s team has come out with a lot to prove finishing the 2007 calendar year with an undefeated 7-0 league record and a 1-1 record in Scottish Cup competition.  Look for the women’s team to take the first division by surprise next year after promotion.
