QMUSU is proud to present a Feel Good Fashion Show!
QMU students and staff will showcase their feel good outfits down our catwalk on the 3rd of March at 5pm in 1875. The event will be a celebration of diversity and inclusion in our community here at QMU as people from all different backgrounds, abilities, nationalities and orientations will show us the outfits that make them feel the most confident, comfortable, strong, funny or just good.
We want to raise awareness of healthy body image which is why everyone is welcome to take part.
We really want this night to be a big celebration. This is why we’ve invited local companies and charities who want to show you their ethically-sourced products. Food and drinks will also be at the ready.
This event was made possible by our partner Santander, so there is no entry fee. We will however be raising money for some charities close to our heart: BEAT, the eating disorder charity, Edinburgh Nightline and Shelter.
Join us on the 3rd of March 2020 for this celebration of diversity!
Why should I take part in the Fashion Show?
This event is a celebration of individuality. We are aiming to promote and celebrate healthy body image by working with BEAT, the Eating Disorders Charity, and have done everything we can to make sure the Fashion Show is as accessible and untraditional as possible.
We are challenging the traditional stereotype of models and all of societies’ beauty standards because we want to celebrate the diversity of the real people who study, live and work on our campus.
We want our students, staff, and the local community to show each other what it means to feel good, whatever that looks like, and to celebrate each other for what we are.
If you want to be on our catwalk, you can fill in this form with your details by the 21st of February: https://form.jotform.com/QMUSU/qmusus-feel-good-fashion-show. We will also hold a run-through of the event on Thursday 27 February, 3:15-5:15pm in room 0047.
