If you’re currently studying at QMU, you are eligible to run for an elected post in the next Student Elections. It doesn’t matter what you’re studying or what experience you have. The successful candidates will take up their posts as Student Officers for the academic year 2021/22. If you’re elected, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance the student experience at QMU, gain new skills, boost your CV and meet new people. 

There are 10 positions in total: 

• 2 Sabbatical Officers (President and Vice-President) which are full-time paid posts. These will require you to take a year out from your degree or start just after you’ve completed your studies.
• 8 Part-time Officers, which are volunteer posts carried out by elected students alongside their studies. These are: Communities Officer, Equality & Diversity Officer, Events Officer, Postgraduate Officer, Societies Officer, Sports Officer, Student Engagement Officer and Welfare Officer.

How to Apply
Student Elections will take place at the beginning of March 2021. Nominations will open on the 8th of February 2021 and will close on the 26th of February. We know that the election process can be daunting, but the SU provide support throughout the whole process.
