We caught up with Naomi Brown, QMU Occupational Therapy student who will be representing Great Britain at the next World University Winter Games in Russia next March.
How do you feel about this achievement? "I am delighted to have been selected to represent Great Britain and Queen Margaret University at the World Winter University Games in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. As a dual career Sport Scotland-funded student athlete, this is the pinnacle event of my curling career to date and I am delighted to be competing for Queen Margaret University and Great Britain at this prestigious event."
Tell us a bit more about the event. "The University Games is a multi-sport event with approximately 3000 student athletes taking part from many countries around the world. It takes place every two years in a different country and it remains the largest university winter sport competition in the world."
Have you ever taken part in an event like the University Games? "I have never experienced a multi-sport event so this will be new to me. I am looking forward to experiencing it with my team but also being part of a bigger team, such as Team Great Britain. I am looking forward to representing QMU at this event as they support me in managing to balance my dual student-athlete career."
We look forward to hearing more from Naomi about her Russian adventure. Meanwhile we wish her all the best with her training and good luck at the Games!
