QMU Ladies Gaelic Football Club was founded in 2008. We participate in Scottish League and British Championship annually. In both 2008 & 2016, we made QMU history and were crowned British Champions. We have made it close every other year, reaching the final and semi final in 2013- 2017 and 2018. We made our debut back to the British Championship in 2023 in Glasgow where we fought hard and made our way to the Semi-Final. We are hoping to build on our performances and head back for 2025!
Our girls have consistently fought hard throughout the years, retaining the title of Scottish Champions for 3 years running!!
We train twice a week in the Meadows and in Inverleith Park, both in Edinburgh city centre, playing games most weekends in the Scottish league against other Scottish Universities.
Our team has been made up of girls from not just Scotland and Ireland, but many parts of the world! We welcome new members from any part of the world with or without experience to play Gaelic football, to join for the exercise or to learn the skills of the game, all levels are welcome!!
Our 2024/25 sponsors are Malones Leith, where we will hold our fundraisers and socials. So whether it is for the love of the game, the exercise, a new challenge, or the great social life that comes with the team, you're guaranteed to make great friends and have plenty of fun and laughs on and off the field.
