How do you feel about winning a STaR Award this year?

I felt totally humbled: I don’t normally win anything, and I had not really thought I would win at all - there are so many amazing tutors and staff that I thought I could not possibly win. So - it’s a bit of a shock and if I’m honest, I am still a bit confused by it! (in a good way!) I do believe what I said on the night, however: I am not sure why *I* would be considered inspirational: it is the students who inspire ME! They are the ones who do amazing things, think great stuff, ask difficult questions, and imagine the future in such brilliant ways: Every time I work with them, I think “The future is safe.” It’s for them that I try my best. 

 

What have you done/do you plan to do with your certificate and trophy?

It is proudly on my desk!! 
 

 What do you enjoy most about your role at QMU?

The Students! I don’t even consider them ‘students’ I think of them as ‘the reason I am here’: I get such an amazing boost from having great conversations and their incredible ideas - they give me such an energy boost!
