Annual lgbtq flag raising ceremony

February marks LGBTQ+ History Month, a time to celebrate and reflect on the rich heritage of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer + (LGBT+) community. For university students, this month offers a unique opportunity to learn, engage, and promote inclusivity within the campus community.

LGBTQ+ History Month is more than a celebration; it's a reminder of the milestones and challenges faced by the community throughout history. From the Stonewall riots of 1969 to ongoing efforts for equality, this month highlights the resilience and courage of those who have paved the way for progress.

At QMUSU we strive for an inclusive campus environment by challenging stereotypes and fostering empathy and celebrating the diversity within the university community.

LGBTQ+ History Month is an invitation for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, to stand up against discrimination and become advocates for positive change.

Join us to mark the beginning of LGBTQ+ history month at the 7th Annual Flag Raising Ceremony on the 1st of February at 1pm (next to the bus stop) and celebrate a month of awareness and support for all LGBTQ+ students and staff.
