Our annual Student Teaching and Representation (STaR) Awards took place on Thursday 27^th March in the Halle and was followed by a reception in Maggie’s. The awards celebrate the commitment of staff to their students, and the commitment and achievements of students. 53 members of staff were nominated in 7 categories (Excellent Teaching, Best Research Supervisor, PAT of the Year, Best Support Staff, The Douglas Award, The Jamie Hayes Award and Outstanding Commitment to Academic Inclusivity), with 44 nominations being received for Excellent Teaching alone. 

25 students were nominated in 3 categories, with 23 nominations being received for Class Rep of the Year and our new category, Outstanding Academic Achievement (students nominated by staff) proved to be very popular with 15 students being nominated. You can see all the winners and runners-up here.

The evening was hosted by our outgoing Student President of Academic Life, Jay Brown and the winners received their trophies which we hope they will display with pride. All nominees have been given a lanyard pin of the QMU crest to recognise their efforts.
