Assessment season can feel like million things happening at once: deadlines, revision, and the pressure to perform can all build up quickly. It’s very easy to forget to take care of yourself but looking after yourself now is just as important as getting the work done. In fact, taking time for your wellbeing can help you focus better and perform more effectively.
Try to avoid negative self-thought and be kind to yourself and remember you are not alone! As a QMU student you have access to many resources. Togetherall provides a 24/7 anonymous online community and self‑help resources, while the Wellbeing Service offers one‑to‑one support for stress, mood, relationships and more. Free short-term counselling is available for issues affecting your mental health or studies, and SilverCloud offers online, evidence-based programmes for various things you might be struggling with such as stress. Lastly, the HelpZone is the independent advice service at the student union that can help signpost you to the right services if everything is a little overwhelming at the moment.
Looking after yourself isn’t a distraction from your studies; it’s a key part of it! Take it one step at a time and be kind to yourself along the way.
